Day 1/

Arrive at Debarwewa 

Check into Lake Side Hotel 12PM

Meet your local family and guides.  Join together in a welcoming prayer to prepare our hearts for the journey ahead.  A briefing on culture, community and environment, the do’s and don’ts while in Sri Lanka. Also a general idea of what you will encounter over the next 8 days.

Healthy lunch and then on to our first tour to meet the local community and experience some incredibly beautiful scenery and wildlife along the way Tuk Tuk style. Wildlife, markets and connecting with each other and locals.

Evening: dinner and a group discussion on prayers and how best to examine what is happening in our hearts and how to discern.


Day 2/

Early morning rising for 7AM prayers, Coffee/Tea and snack, then pick up by Tuk Tuk for 2 hour morning walk around Tissa Lake for bird watching and photography then back for healthy brunch.

Open discussion on compassion, forgiveness what they mean to each one of us.

Midday break for prayer time, rest and contemplation.

2PM visit to Agape Orphanage to meet Pastor Dayaratne and his wife Mala.  Hear from Pastor his powerful testimony of love and dedication and what inspired him to build the orphanage, insuring compassion for others.  A time for us to share any donations to help the children of Sri Lanka.

Afternoon snacks and juice.

Sri Lankan cooking with Pastor’s wife.

Family dinner with Pastor Daya and his family and friends.


Day 3/


8.45AM Tuk Tuk pick up for local Sunday service in Debarawewa Church built and founded by Sister Lilanni. Experience powerful healing prayers and beautiful  Sri Lankan hymns. Enjoy the love of the local community as they gather in praise and worship.

Lunch with Sister Lilanni.  Hear her powerful testimony of true forgiveness that will certainly inspire your heart.

Return to Hotel for rest.

3.45PM pick up with local transport to visit local Buddhist temples and more beautiful countryside in and around Debarawewa.

Dinner at accommodation (Please feel free to eat alone if you so wish and have time to reflect and journal).


Day 4/


9AM pick up in local transport to visit Agape Orphanage to meet with Pastor, then together visit Katergama famous Maha Devale Buddhist/Hindu Temple and Pastor’s Church. Meet more of the local community and share prayers for healing.

Lunch by the river and then return to the orphanage for prayers of gratitude.

Sunset by Tissa Lake to view the birds and animals and watch the flight of bats as they soar into the night.

Dinner at Hotel either together or solo whichever you feel you need.


Day 5/


9AM pick up for Safari to Yala National Park to see elephants, buffalo, leopards, sloths and many other varieties of birds and animals.  Picnic at Gem River and then head to Agape Orphanage for afternoon tea and prayers.

Return to accommodation for relaxation and dinner.


Day 6/

Breakfast and prayers

9.30AM pick up for a mystery tour - bring bathers, sun hat and insect repellent.

Lunch at a local restaurant serving fresh vegetarian food and fresh fish.

Continue on with mystery tour, stopping as we go to meet and greet locals.

End the day with a sunset walk around the lake and dinner.


Day 7/


9.30AM farewell to Debarwewa for a 2-3 hour drive to Ella, stopping on the way for site-seeing and bathing in waterfalls.

1PM book into accommodation and have lunch. A free afternoon to walk around and view Ella, do some shopping and book a massage.

7PM farewell dinner and celebration of new friends/family.


Day 8/

Farewell breakfast with prayers and blessings.

9AM pick up to take either train or transport to Negombo.

Transport to and from Pilgrimage (Please inform us if you would like us to help organise transport and hotels in Negombo )

Any extra tours that are not advertised.

DONATIONS, If possible please make a little room in your luggage to bring a few things for the kids or adults in need.

While visiting temples/church and other sacred places please wear clothing that covers the shoulders and either skirts below the knee or long trousers.
